How Small Farms Can Support Pollinators

Tuesday, November 11, 2014
4:00 PM – 5:00 PM EDT
Carolina Farm Stewardship Association’s 29th Annual Sustainable Agriculture Conference
Greenville, SC

Join Nancy Adamson to learn how supporting pollinators and their habitat needs also sustains other agriculturally beneficial arthropods and diverse wildlife. Along with giving one of the “Big Idea Presentations” on Tuesday at 4 p.m., she will be providing pollinator resources and sharing a native bee display throughout the conference in the exhibit area. Our abundant harvests depend on many intimate connections, including visits to flowers by bees and other pollinators. Enhancing wildflower diversity; reducing pesticide use, deep tillage, and mowing; adjusting grazing practices; and protecting or enhancing natural habitat on and around farms supports pollinators, predators, and parasitoids, and the health of our communities.
