Obtaining the PREDATOR Bug File from Raw Data
(examples based on using Excel/Access)

Field relationships * Enter/Upload data * Query database * Format bug file

Macro_Invert_Data.db1.mdb

The instructions in this section are intended to be used in conjunction with the Microsoft Access database Macro_Invert_Data.db1.mdb. These step-by-step instructions are intended to help you get your data into Microsoft Access then back out of Access and into a format that can be uploaded into and analyzed with the the Western Center for Monitoring and Assessment of Freshwater Ecosystems Predictive Models.

We recommend summarizing all collected macro-invertebrate monitoring data in the Macro_Invert_Data.db1. The best thing to do is to open the blank database by clicking above, then save a copy (GreatWatershed_Macro_Invert_Data.db1) to your hard drive prior to modifying it. By doing this, you will have a clean master copy to refer to if a table or query setup is accidentally changed.

If you need specific help with MS Access, we recommend utilizing the help menus (Help from the main tools menu).

For descriptions and explanations of what specific fields are intended to be used for, please see the Database_Field_Explanations.xls file.
