Amber holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental science from the University of Oregon. Her passion for wildlife conservation has led her to work on projects aimed at restoring riparian habitats for pollinators and aquatic invertebrates, as well as an internship with her local Soil and Water Conservation District, working on implementing and tracking conservation projects in forest, agricultural, riparian, and suburban habitats. Amber also has years of program and office management experience in both public and private sectors. Before joining Xerces, she worked for a Portland-based nonprofit organization, managing events, outreach, and communications.
A California native, Amber designed theatre sets in New Jersey before moving to Oregon to pursue her career in environmental conservation. She now lives in Portland, Oregon and enjoys live music, exploring the trails and rivers of the PNW, or reading under a pile of cats.
