Bees pollinate many of the foods we depend on, yet they face serious threats. Loss of habitat, exposure to pesticides, and spread of diseases are causing significant declines.

Bee Better Certified® is the first third-party verified certification program focused on pollinator health. Developed by the Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation, with support from Oregon Tilth and the USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service, Bee Better Certified works with farmers and food companies to make places that are better for bees and other pollinators.

Our rigorous standards require that farms be managed with pollinators in mind, including the provision of adequate habitat and the elimination of pesticide practices that harm bees. These standards are science-based, field-tested, and developed in partnership with bee researchers, conservationists, sustainability specialists, and farmers themselves.

This brochure serves as an informative introduction to the program.
